Why am I receiving email notifications with subjects such as the following?
lfd on $hostname: Excessive resource usage: $username

These notifications are generated by the 3rd party software ConfigServer LFD, not cPanel. The resource usage limits can be modified by changing the PT_USERMEM and PT_USERTIME settings on the following page in WHM:
Home >> Plugins >> ConfigServer Security & Firewall >> Firewall Configuration
Alternatively, you can configure LFD to ignore certain processes or users in the /etc/csf/csf.pignore file. The following thread on ConfigServer's forum has instructions for managing this file:
